About the Course
Outline
Depending on weather and snow we will work on the following areas of your skiing:
Stance and Alignment
Functional Turn Shape
Short turns, powder, and bumps
Work on building up your skills.
Technique immersion working on various drills that will refine and make you a well-rounded skier.
Video analysis to track progress and deepen understanding.
Ability (Intermediate/ Advanced)
Ability to ski groomed black runs. Great technique is not required but a good level of fitness is essential. You should be in good physical shape to be able to ski all day for 5 days.

Hakuba 47
Travel
Plan to arrive 1 day early to acclimate and get settled.
Fly into Tokyo-Narita Airport
It is 3-4 hours to Hakuba with many options available.

Jason Simpson

Jason is a seasoned ski instructor and coach with over 30 years of experience and a background in ski racing. Former Director of Mountain Sports at Panorama, BC, he earned his CSIA Level 4 certification in just one season—an achievement few match. Jason’s coaching philosophy centers on building confidence through understanding, helping athletes master skiing, mountain biking, and even flight. A passionate mentor, he inspires others by breaking down complex skills into clear, actionable insights—always driven by curiosity, much like his favorite quote from The Matrix: “It’s the question that drives us.
