About the Course

Who This Camp Is For

This is an advanced-level ski camp designed for experienced skiers looking to elevate their performance across carving, short turns, and mogul skiing — with Tom Gellie as your coach.

To join this camp, you should:

  • Be able to carve cleanly on blue terrain

  • Make confident, balanced short turns

  • Ski moguls in the fall line with control

  • Have the fitness to ski five days in a row, from morning to late afternoon

Limited to just 6 participants, this is a rare opportunity to ski and learn in an intimate, high-level coaching environment.

What’s Included

  • 5 days of on-snow coaching with Tom Gellie

    • 4 days of technique focused coaching.

    • 1 day of guided technical freeskiing practice. This day will be scheduled in accordance with the POW forecast so we can make the most of that special powder day. Specific tasks will be assigned to practice groups, who at times will be self directed, and coaching will be adjusted to concentrate on terrain, tactics & flow

  • Evening video analysis sessions and movement discussions

  • Optional boot setup checks, technical Q&As, and personalised feedback

  • Evenings are a valuable part of the experience — reviewing the day’s footage, relaxing with the group, and digging deeper into technical and tactical insights.

What's NOT included:

  • On-snow accommodation at the base of Nekoma Resort:

  • The stay includes 6 nights with breakfast and dinner provided.

    • Travel and lift passes not included.

Coaching Focus

  • Monday–Tuesday: Deep technical development in carving, short turns, and moguls

  • Wednesday morning: Guided skiing with Tom, focused on line choice, terrain adaptation, and flow — building awareness and tactical decision-making

  • Thursday–Friday: Mileage-based coaching and skill application, with continued video feedback and refinement

Throughout the week, you’ll sharpen your movement awareness, increase your ability to self-assess, and gain tools for long-term progress.

Travel Info – Getting to Nekoma

From Tokyo Station, take a fast train (Shinkansen) to Koriyama, then connect via local train or bus to Aizu, followed by a short taxi or shuttle to Nekoma.

It typically takes around half a day. Tom has often travelled from Tokyo in the morning and been skiing by the afternoon.

Coaching Team & Atmosphere

Tom’s close friend and fellow Ski Coach Collective member Demelza Clay will also be coaching a separate group at Nekoma during the same week.

Together, the coaches create a welcoming, inspiring atmosphere where great skiing and great conversations go hand in hand.

This is a chance to experience a quiet, authentic Japanese ski resort, far from the usual tourist spots — with top-tier coaching, powdery snow, and a warm, community vibe.

Pricing For The On Snow Program

  • Coaching: $2,600 USD for the 5 day program
